I use to love walking but due to a spinal operation in 2004 I have been
restricted but still manage a few miles when I feel up to it, my

I have just received my copy of the RSGB
Yearbook 2007 and at page 35 I read
you (GW7KYT)
are the member to contact for the for the
Bridgend & DARC (GW4LNP).
I had the pleasure to get in touch with
you (GW7KYT) on
27th Jan. 1997 and at my request to have the pleasure to
become an associate foreign member, he kindly wrote me:
I am
pleased to inform you that our Club has provision within its
constitution for International Members, this being granted
for life on payment of $1 (one US dollar),
the reason for this is that the first request came from an
American amateur in Oregon, who incidentally has since
relocated to, would you believe - Bridgend
After that contact I tried to keep in
touch with the Club several times sending my letters of
inquiry to your personal address at 12,
Blackmill Road, Bryncethin, Bridgend CF32 9YN, South
Wales.
I also contacted you by telephone at the
# 01656 721574 and
you promised me to let me know something about the Club
activity.
Now I have the pleasure to write you this
letter as I would like to know if I still am a LIFE foreign
honorary member of the Club (pls give me a confirmation) or
in alternative (if the situation is unluckly changed) pls
quote the membership fee I have to pay now on. In the past I
was always proud to be a member of Bridgend & DARC.May I
have any news about the Club and the radio amateur activity
in Bridgend District?
I apologize for any possible trouble this
letter may have caused to you, but I wish to try also this
opportunity to have a real contact with the Club and the
involved members.
Pse give my best regards to everybody at
the members' committee I look forward to hearing from you in
coming future.
With my best regards from Italy. My
location is Udine (G. C.:
46N03 / 013E14 - JN66PB), a town in NE Italy near
the Austrian and Slovenian borders, at 80 miles NE bound
from Venice. "73"

Elmer Seutter (W6IGK)
Grants Pass Oregon - New Life Member
I am 76 years old and I
am licensed as an Extra Class. My XYL, Joanne, is N6OJF
and is a licensed General Class. My working career was
spent in the electronics industry in technical and
management positions until retiring in 1996. I was first
licensed in 1950 and was very active for several years
on CW, Due to pressures of work my activities were
limited to mostly mobile until about 1980 when I got
caught up in chasing DX. Since then DX has been my main
amateur activity, mostly on SSB until about 18 months
ago when I went back to CW.
I have 335 DXCC countries confirmed
and I’m on the ARRL DXCC Honor Roll. I also have close
to 1700 points for the Challenge Award. I have worked
about 250 countries QRP and about 270 mobile/stationary.
I usually run about 100 Watts or less and use wire
antennas. My goal now is to get on the DXCC Roll of
Honor for CW. I am now at about 215 worked and 135
confirmed. My other amateur activities are assisting in
licensing classes and ‘Elmering’.
